CBS is launching a 24-hour internet based video news service that will further empower viewers and allow them to pick and choose when and what they want to watch.

CBS is one of many network powers changing the way it attracts viewers. ABC, ESPN, Fox News, MTV, HGTV, BBC, Telemundo, and Major League Baseball are investing in subscription and ad-supported ventures offering tv content on the internet.

With the number of people with broadband access to the internet growing daily, it’s obvious that in the very near future people can go to their computers for video and tv shows rather than to their television sets.
